Gov. Rick Perry may not be eyeing a 2012 presidential run, but he is sharing a stage with some of the GOP's top contenders.

Former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich joined Perry at a book signing Thursday, one day after the governor appeared with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a vice presidential candidate in 2008.

Gingrich said he's very interested in a run at the White House.

"I think Callista and I will make that decision in February or early March," he said. "We run four small businesses, and we're organizing them right now so that we'd be able to run. I must say that the clear, vivid choice between where Obama would take us and what most Americans want to go makes it very appealing."

Perry reiterated that he is not planning to run for president.

When asked if a Gingrich campaign for a Perry 2012 presidential run would change his mind, the governor's answer was short: "No."
