God and politics might not mix but throw in the devil and now you got something.
According to a website called RightWingWatch.com — which is really just quoting the watched right winger — Alice Patterson, one of the organizers of tomorrow’s “The Response,” believes demonic forces control the Democratic Party.
The website quotes a passage in her book as asking “what is the demonic structure behind the Democratic Party?”
Well, c’mon, any fool can see that. Just look at the word “Democrat.” Drop the “crat,” replace the syllable with the letter “n,” and there you have it — “demon.” Duh.
Y’all just now cluing in to that? Do you recognize sarcasm when you see it?
Understandably, they need to sell tickets to tomorrow’s prayer and fasting rally, but this god and pony show seems to be teetering on silly.
Speaking of tickets, and admittedly I haven’t been to church in quite some time, I don’t remember having to buy a ticket to attend a prayer meeting. Did they change that? Does an admission fee keep out the riff-raff?
Anyway, ticket sales to Gov. Rick's The Response have been less than brisk — about 8,000 last I saw for seating capacity of 71,000 — so shouldn’t they be more focused right now on marketing?
Bruce Felps owns and operates East Dallas Times, an online community news outlet serving the White Rock Lake area. Yeah, he's probably going to burn in hell and he's not even a Democrat.
