Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine Visits North Texas

U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-VA, the Democratic Party's vice presidential nominee, wrapped up a two-day fundraising trip to Texas on Wednesday with stops in Fort Worth and Dallas.

Kaine made a quick visit to Gloria's restaurant in the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff, where he met with voters.

Kaine didn't take any questions from reporters, so there was no response from him on the release of 44 unseen emails released by the conservative group Judicial Watch. The group says the emails show an inappropriate relationship between the U.S. State Department and former president Bill Clinton's philanthropic organization, The Clinton Foundation.

But during a speech Tuesday in Austin, Kaine responded to Donald Trump's comment about Hillary Clinton, in which the Republican presidential nominee said, "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

Some viewed that comment as a threat. Trump said it was about getting people out to vote.

"I just think it is a window into the soul of a person who is not temperamentally suited to the task," said Kaine.

The Clinton camp is hammering that she is the one best suited to the job. The campaign released a list of nearly 50 Republicans and independents who have endorsed her.

Texas Democrats believe the Republicans' support is good news for their candidate.

"I think people who are putting the good of this country above partisan politics, at this point, are brave souls, and they should be commended," said Jean Ball, of Dallas.
