Another Gov Poll, Another Result

With college football kicking off, this governor's race poll might have gone under the radar.

A Sept. 2 GOPAC poll showed Gov. Rick Perry leading former Houston Mayor Bill White 50 percent to 38 percent. Eleven percent were undecided, and 1 percent were voting for another candidate. The poll had a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percent.

Wilson Research Strategies conducted the poll for GOPAC, a Republican group working to elect Republican candidates.

The results are quite different from another recent poll from the Texas Watch Poll. That poll shows the race as being neck-and-neck, with Perry slightly ahead with 42 percent compared to White's 41 percent.
