About 1,400 Attend Palin Fundraiser at Christian School

Ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin compared her home state to Texas when it comes to freedom and work ethics.

Palin appeared Monday night at a fundraiser for the Lubbock Christian School, drawing about 1,400 people to the pay-to-attend event. Members of the media were not invited.

The former GOP vice presidential nominee drew praise from attendee Kristen Vander-Plas, president of the Lubbock Christian University College Republicans.

Vander-Plas told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that Palin said Texas and Alaska are alike because they are "good beacons of freedom" and share similar values and work ethics.

Linda Hunt of San Angelo said she believes in Palin.

Hunt welcomed what she described as Palin's "enthusiasm, her love for America, her honesty and her core values of representing the people and not just special interests."
