Hot Air Balloon Crashes in Central Indiana

The FAA has taken over the investigation

Authorities say seven people escaped serious injury when the hot air balloon carrying them crashed into power lines in central Indiana.

The Noblesville Fire Department says two of the passengers suffered minor injuries but refused treatment after the crash Saturday evening about 20 miles north of Indianapolis.

Investigators say it appears the balloon was descending when it struck the power lines, then fell into an open field.

The FAA has taken over the investigation.

Police say the crash left areas of Noblesville without electricity for about an hour afterward.

The balloon was owned by Midwest Balloon Rides of Fishers.
