A runaway fueling van struck the wing of a JetBlue plane parked at Logan International Airport in Boston on Friday morning while passengers were on board, according to the Massachusetts Port Authority.
Authorities said the driverless van struck a JetBlue plane bound for Tampa, Florida, near a gate around 6 a.m. A spokeswoman for the Massport, which runs the airport, said the van ran into a wing.
"There was a big bang and jolt," said passenger David Siles. "And the plane came back down."
The plane sustained damage and was taken out of service, but no injuries were reported.
Passengers were taken off and the plane and placed on another flight.
Siles had a front-row seat and felt all the action. He says the crew struggled to understand what had happened, since the plane was still parked at the gate.
"The pilot jumps up and said, 'I just think we collapsed the landing gear,'" he said.

Massport Fire and Rescue and the Massachusetts State Police continue to investigate the incident to determine exactly what happened.
JetBlue released a statement explaining that a ground operations vehicle came into contact with the plane while it was parked at the gate.
The airline also added that the aircraft was being inspected for damage and customers on the flight would be accommodated on a different aircraft.
They are still investigating the incident.
JetBlue also addressed the incident on Twitter, saying it was glad everyone was safe.
