FDNY Responds to Small Top of the Rock Fire

A piece of camera equipment at the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza caught fire Sunday evening, and embers from the fire landed on several visitors on the observation deck, causing slight burns, the FDNY says.

It's not clear what sparked the fire to the camera at the Top of the Rock at about 7:45 p.m. The camera belongs to NBC 4 New York.

Six people received minor burns, authorities say. Five of them refused medical attention, and one child was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.
