Pence Meets With Trump, But ‘Nothing Was Offered' on VP Front

Pence said the two played golf and that they talked about “our country”

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence told reporters “nothing was offered, nothing was accepted” during his meeting this weekend with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, NBC News reported. 

Pence, who met with Trump at his New Jersey golf course, offered few details on the meeting. He said the two played golf and that they talked about “our country” and “the progress we’ve made in Indiana.” 

Pence is one of the first potential vice presidential picks to meet one-on-one with Trump as the candidate considers his options. ” 

He later reaffirmed that he's focused on his reelection fight: "I am the governor of Indiana and I'm running for reelection this year and I'm focused on the job."
