Mississippi Man Kills Father, Stabs Mother in Dispute Over Food: Police

Police say a 32-year-old Mississippi man stabbed his father to death and injured his mother after an argument over food the night before.

According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, Ronald Pritchett was visiting his parents in Gretna, Louisiana, when he became enraged during a dispute about a meal.

Pritchett who is from Purvis, just south of Hattiesburg, was arrested on Thanksgiving.

The sheriff's office says he kicked down his parent's bedroom door and stabbed his father, Percival Pritchett, 58, in the chest and his mother, Renta, 57.

Percival Pritchett died later at the hospital and Renta suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Pritchett was apprehended early Thursday at his home in Purvis, and is being held at the Lamar County Jail.
