Feds Ask for Help Identifying, Finding Child Sex Predator “John Doe 27”

The suspect is accused of engaging in sexually explicit acts with a child, but little is known about his identity

The FBI is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a man suspected of sexually exploiting a child in images being circulated on child pornography forums.

According to San Diego FBI officials, the accused sex predator is known as “John Doe 27.”

He was first photographed engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child in April 2013, and that information was recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Officials said those explicit images are still being distributed across child pornography forums online.

Investigators have enhanced a number of photos depicting the suspect, including a snapshot of the man’s face and bald head (see photos above). Those images were released by the FBI to the public Tuesday in hopes of tracking down the suspected predator.

“We believe this person is involved in the sexual exploitation of children,” said San Diego FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth. “We’re asking the public to please take a look at these photographs. We don’t know who [this man] is, but we feel that he is out there endangering children and continuing to victimize them.”

Foxworth said there are several clues in the newly-released photos that may assist with the identification of the man. For instance, the images show male pattern baldness on the man’s head and a ring on his right ring finger.

One image also shows a distinct plaid chair seen inside a residence where the suspect interacts with his victim (see photo below).

“We’re asking people to take a look at this chair and see if it’s something that somebody might recognize, whether they purchased this chair at a furniture store or if they’ve seen it at a business or residence,” said Foxworth.

Investigators said that based on audio heard from the video, it is believed that the man may have referred to himself as “Jimmy.” Foxworth said the man has a southern accent.

The FBI described John Doe 27 as a Caucasian male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, with dark hair and dark eyes. For now, there are no specific details linking the suspect to a particular state or city. He remains at large, and no charges have been filed in this case.

He’s currently being sought as part of the FBI’s Operation Rescue Me and Child Endangered Alert Program (ECAP). Anyone with information on the suspect’s identify and whereabouts should call the FBI’s tip line at (800) CALL-FBI or submit at tip at this website.

Using new photo-enhancing technology, Foxworth said the FBI is working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to identify and locate more of these "unknown" sexual predators and prevent the exploitation of children.

“With the sharing of these photographs today, we hope that someone out there is able to identify this individual or the photographs,” added Foxworth.
