Both Clinton, Trump Unpopular With Voters, Early Exit Polls Indicate

Early Wednesday morning, Democrat Hillary Clinton conceded the U.S. Presidency to Republican Donald Trump, but early exit polls indicated one trend: A majority of voters had unfavorable views of both candidates.

As NBC News reported, about 61 percent of voters said they view Donald Trump unfavorably, while 54 percent of voters reported unfavorable views of Hillary Clinton. The numbers appear to underline one of the major themes of this campaign: Both candidates are unpopular.

But the exit polling data threw up a real puzzle: voters are pretty clear they're unhappy with government, but they don't know how they want to change it. While 53 percent approve of how Barack Obama is handling his job as president, 62 percent say the country is on the wrong track.
