The body of a 78-year-old woman was found floating face down in the water about 20 yards from the jogging path on the west shore of White Rock Lake on Saturday.
Dallas police homicide detective Ray Beaudreault said dispatchers received a call at about 6:30 a.m. morning from a passerby who noticed the body in the water.
"There doesn't appear to be any signs of foul play at this time," he said.
Investigators said they did not find any signs of trauma.
Dallas police said the woman was identified as June Bradley, 78. The woman's sister reported her missing on Saturday afternoon.
Homicide detectives, patrol officers, fire department rescue crews and the medical examiners office all responded. Firefighters retrieved Bradley's body using a fire department raft.
Beaudreault said a pile of clothing was found on the shore indicated Bradley may have accidentally "slipped and fell into the water."

"We're not exactly sure how she got into the water at this point," he said.
It is unclear when Bradley left her house or why she was at the lake.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
