A woman was walking to her car in Deep Ellum when an unidentified man drove up and demanded that she give him her purse.
The woman didn't comply, and that's when the suspect shot her, jumped back into his truck and sped away.
The woman fell down in a field where another woman saw her and called for help.
She was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas in stable condition.
