Woman Robbed in Driveway in M Streets of Dallas

A Dallas community is on alert after a bold robbery last week in the M Streets.

According to a Dallas police report, during the early morning hours on Friday a 25-year-old woman was getting out of her car in her driveway when she was held up by a man. The robber ran off with her purse and everything inside it.

"It's horrifying," said Cat Gemperle, who lives on the same block as the victim. "All the neighbors were out on Thursday, every neighborhood for Halloween and tons of kids."

On Sunday, the 9th Annual Fall Festival took over the corner of Delmar Avenue and Palo Pinto Avenue. Many folks had the same reaction after hearing of the holdup.

"Those types of things are unusual for our neighborhood, they're unusual," said Michelle Hille, part of the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association.

Now this neighborhood will do what it always does, come together. The LGNA puts out monthly crime numbers and alerts and will surely do so in the coming days.

"The difference about this neighborhood is we'll do something about it, we're very connected," said Gemperle.

According to the victim's roommate, she is doing well and wasn't hurt in the attack. No word from Dallas Police on whether or not this thief is believed to be linked to any other crimes in the area.
