Woman Robbed at Wal-Mart Warns Others

It was supposed to be a quick trip to Wal-Mart on Midway Road and Interstate 635 on Saturday night, instead 29-year-old Linda Oh found herself face-to-face with a gun.

โ€œIโ€™m angry and Iโ€™m frustrated and Iโ€™m sad," Oh said. "I feel violated."

She said she was just about to get in her car when two men pulled up in a four-door silver Nissan Murano.

โ€œThey quickly came and then they slowed down and they stopped. They halted right here diagonally,โ€ Oh said, pointing to an empty parking spot next to her car.

She said one of the men approached her and demanded her purse.

โ€œI slid it off my arm and gave it to him not even thinking," she said.

Oh said, quickly realizing what was happening, she approached the men to try and get her purse back.

โ€œHe pulled out his black gun and was like, โ€˜Get back, get back.โ€™ Iโ€™m just like, 'Oh my God, he had a gun the whole time,'โ€ she said.

The men pulled away and Oh safely got into her car before calling 911.

She said the men got away with nearly $3,000 worth of personal belongings, including a Louis Vuitton purse and a meaningful charm.

Oh said police told her she was an easy target because she was distracted while talking on her cellphone, which was covered by a large, colorful cellphone case.

โ€œThey said you had a nice bag on you and you were distracted by that huge phone case so they know you were on your phone,โ€ she said.

Oh said looking back she thinks one of the men who robbed her was watching her while she was shopping inside Wal-Mart, but was again distracted by a conversation on her cellphone.

She said she wants her experience to be a lesson for everyone to constantly be on alert while in public.

โ€œDonโ€™t be distracted and park really close to the door. Park in front of lights and cameras. If you want, you can ask someone to walk you to your car,โ€ she said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Dallas Police Department.
