Woman, child hospitalized following fatal crash

Woman Killed in Arlington Crash

Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman in southeast Arlington Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the female driver of a car attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of southeast Green Oaks Boulevard on Wellston Drive when she was hit by an oncoming SUV at about 12:45 p.m.

The woman driving the car, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, and her child, were both transported to Medical Center of Arlington with non life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said there is no indication that alcohol played a role in the crash.  The crash is the 10th traffic fatality in Arlington this year.
