Woman Goes on Rampage in Car: Police

Woman describes scene as her grandchildren ran for cover

A Dallas woman said she was watching her six grandchildren play in her front yard when a driver suddenly screeched up and started trying to run over people.

The incident happened Sunday on the 4000 block of Sonny Circle.

"I was yelling for my children to move, for my grand babies to run, you know — find somewhere to go because she was out of control,” said Brenda Scott.

Police arrested the driver, Gabrielle Jackson, and charged her with aggravated assault. She is being held in the Dallas County jail on $200,000 bond.

Scott said Jackson went on a rampage because her daughter is dating Jackson’s ex-boyfriend, who is also the father of her child.

"Her statement was that she was going to kill all of them," Scott said.

Jackson knocked over a fence and crashed right into the side of Scott's house while Scott and her grandchildren ran for cover.

"And she would look back and she was reversing and going forward,” Scott said. “She was actually trying to hurt someone."

In the end, Jackson's car got a flat tire and became stuck. Scott said she and the others broke out her windows and grabbed her keys.

Police quickly arrived and arrested Jackson.

"Thank God that they're not really hurt because it could have been worse,” Scott said.
