Woman Dies After Motorcycle Crash

A woman is dead after being ejected from her motorcycle along Interstate 20 in Dallas.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Department responded to a multivehicle crash along eastbound I-20 at Cedar Ridge Drive around 10 p.m. Sunday evening.

When they arrived, they found several wrecked vehicles and 33-year-old Amanda Beachum of Duncanville lying dead in the road.

Investigators said they believe several motorcycles were quickly weaving in and out of traffic along I-20. The victim reportedly came to an abrupt stop and was struck from behind by a small black car, causing the motorcycle she was riding to tumble down the highway and throw her from the bike.

That car spun into the center wall and at least two other vehicles spun out while trying to miss the original crash.

All eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed, causing a traffic backup.

Investigators did not say if charges would be filed.
