A College Station woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for trying to hire an undercover officer to kill her 7-year-old son's father.
The Bryan-College Station Eagle reports Nicolette Beard was convicted Friday of first-degree solicitation to commit capital murder. Beard then agreed to a 15-year prison sentence.
According to prosecutors, the 35-year-old woman was arrested in September 2013 after an acquaintance told police she approached him about having the father of her son killed.
An undercover operation was set up, and authorities say Beard offered an undercover officer money to carry out the plan.
