Woman Arrested in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested in the death of a motorcycle rider early Tuesday morning, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.

Keller firefighters were called to the 5700 block of Wall-Price-Keller Road at 12:45 a.m. where a Jeep collided with a motorcycle.

The sheriff's office said two women in the Jeep were coming out of Conchos Circle turning eastbound onto Wall Price Keller Road when they collided with the westbound motorcycle.

The man was thrown from his motorcycle into a street sign according to deputies; he was taken by helicopter to the hospital where he died.

Tuesday afternoon the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said the driver of the Jeep, 18-year-old Cristan Melacon, was charged with intoxication manslaughter. Her bond was set at $20,000.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office identified the motorcycle rider as 30-year-old Jason Wakeford of Keller.

Wakeford's friends and family will hold a candlelight vigil Tuesday at 9 p.m. at the crash site.
