North Richland Hills police say they arrested a 32-year-old woman who lied about being an attorney and collected money for services she never provided.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that the woman faces two charges of falsely holding herself out as a lawyer.
Investigator Keith Bauman, a spokesman for the North Richland Hills Police Department, said detectives have determined that the suspect doesn't have a license to practice law.
Bauman said as many as nine residents have come forward to say the woman cheated them. Some said they have paid more than $1,500 to her.
Anyone who believes they may have been a victim in the scheme is asked to contact the police department.
