Wild 60-Mile Chase Ends Near Corsicana

Police say shooting, carjacking and car crash also occurred during chase

    At some point during the 60-mile chase, the man was shot in the knee.

    A chase that began after a robbery in Mansfield and continued after a carjacking in Midlothian finally ended with a crash in Corsicana.

    Police said the man held up a check-cashing store in Mansfield at about 6 p.m. Officers saw him leave the store and chased him to Midlothian, where he wrecked his vehicle.

    The man then stole a passing driver's car at gunpoint, police said.

    The chase moved through Waxahachie before the suspect flipped his vehicle along Interstate 45, a few miles north of Corsicana.

    At some point during the 60-mile chase, the man was shot in the knee. Investigators declined to say when the man was shot.

    He was taken to Parkland Hospital and is expected to survive the shooting.
