Waxahachie ISD Breaks Ground On New High School

The Waxahachie Independent School District broke ground on a new high school Thursday morning.

The campus will be built at the corner of West U.S. Highway 287 Bypass and West U.S. Highway 287 Business.

The new building will include more than 80,000 square feet dedicated to Career and Technical Education.

There will also be a new band hall, theater facilities, sports fields and new gyms.

The new school is expected to open in August 2018.

Sixth grade students also attended Thursday's groundbreaking, since they will be the first class to attend all four years in the new school.
