Water Main Break Shuts Down Dallas Street

Dallas street crews worked more than 12 hours to repair the damage from a water main break at Zang Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue in Oak Cliff.

The water main broke around 6 p.m. Monday and caused the street to buckle. Water gushed out of the cracks created in the roadway.

The break shut down all east bound lanes of Jefferson Avenue and the south bound lanes of Zang Boulevard.

By 6 a.m. Tuesday, crews had fixed the 12” line, filled the hole with a concrete mix, and put down asphalt in the intersection. They also made smaller repairs to the damaged street.

The road has yet to reopen. NBC 5 will update this story when the road can be driven on again.
