Water Main Break Turns Arlington Road into Lake

A major water main break in Arlington closed a roadway and created water pressure problems to homes and shopping centers in the area.

City officials said a they are working to repair a 42-inch water main break near the intersection of Nathan Lowe and Matlock Road. The break sent water gushing out turning Matlock Road into a lake.

Water was turned off in the area to allow repairs to be made. The water shutoff briefly affected the Parks Mall and Arlington Highlands Shopping Center, but both are open.

City officials said water pressure should return to normal throughout the day.
