Water Levels in North Texas – A Look at the Lakes and Rivers

You will notice some lakes, mainly those west of Interstate 35W are still below conservation level

North Texas Lakes have benefited from recent rains. All lakes are at least 70 percent full, many 100 percent full. Here is a look at lake levels as of Sept. 24. You will notice some lakes, mainly those west of Interstate 35W are still below conservation level. Those lakes were located in areas that saw some of the worst drought conditions this past summer.

Some North Texas Rivers are still at flood stage.

The Trinity River at Dallas swelled out of its banks to major flood stage. Since Saturday, levels have come down, though the river is still at minor flood stage. Water levels will drop below flood stage today.

The Trinity River at Rosser and the East Fork in McKinney are still experiencing minor flooding. Levels are forecasted to fall below flood stage later today.
