U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) met with actress and gun control activist Alyssa Milano Tuesday afternoon for what both promised would be a "civil" discussion on gun control.

The pair met up in Cruz's office, along with Fred Guttenberg, the father of a girl killed in the Parkland, Florida, school shooting and Ben Jackson, an advocate who is friends with Jackson and Milano, and discussed the issue for about 70 minutes.

The meeting came about after Milano proposed a live discussion on the issue. The coversation was streamed on Facebook Live and can be seen in the player below.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Cruz is a leading voice for expansive Second Amendment rights and last weekend, after a killing spree in West Texas, Milano called Cruz's advocacy 'bulls*.'
