Volunteers Plant Trees in Fire-Ravaged Bastrop County

After wildfires burned thousands of acres in Central Texas, volunteers are planting seedlings to restore the environment there.

Volunteers with TreeFolks, a group that works to restore forests after natural disasters, planted loblolly pine seedlings on Saturday in Bastrop County, an area that was hit hard by wildfires in 2011 and 2015.

The 2015 wildfire burned more than 4,000 acres and destroyed almost three dozen homes.

TreeFolks hopes to plant 10,000 trees in Bastrop County this winter.
