Vollmer's Youth Coach Celebrates Olympic Victory

Ron Forrest didn't make the trip to Rio, but he's still coaching Dana Vollmer from a distance.

"It still pops in from time to time," said Forrest. "I knew she was going to leave absolutely everything in the pool in that race."

Vollmer's Former Coach Cheers Her On

Vollmer added a fifth career Olympic gold medal on Saturday night. Forrest believes the Women's 4x100 medley relay could be her last Olympic appearance.

"This could be the last time," Forrest said. "We shall see. Never say never."

Mission Accomplished for Vollmer

Forrest runs the Fort Worth Area Swim Team or FAST. He coached Vollmer when she was a rising star as a preteen.
