Victim of First Murder in Colleyville in 20 Years Identified

Colleyville police also released a sketch of a "person of interest" in the case

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office released the identity of the Colleyville's first homicide in at least 20 years on Wednesday, police released the sketch of a person of interest.

The medical examiner identified the woman found dead Tuesday inside a house in the 500 block of Frontier Court as 72-year-old Anita Fox of Alvarado.

Fox is an employee of the homeowners, who were not home when the body was discovered, according to police. Colleyville police say Fox was at the home to water the resident's plants.

Another employee of the homeowners, a man, called 911 just after 11:30 a.m. to report the crime, police said.

Police said there were obvious signs of trauma but the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office would have to rule on the cause of death. Police said Wednesday they had not identified a motive.

Colleyville police made it clear the person of interest was not considered a suspect at this time.

Police described the person of interest as white male, approximately 40 years old, standing 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a heavyset build and short blonde or gray hair. Police said he was wearing a blue or gray T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

The vehicle of interest is described as a mid-2000s, 2-door pickup truck, police said while the make and model was not known, it was described as a cream or champagne in color with metal pipe bed racks. Police did not have a license plate number.

Because the Colleyville Police Department does not have its own homicide detectives, the FBI and the Texas Rangers have been asked assist in the investigation,.
