Man Dies in Fall From High Five: Dallas Police

Dallas police say a man is dead after falling from an overpass at the High Five interchange early Wednesday.

Police said the man — later identified as 29-year-old Chase Duckworth — was involved in a minor crash on the ramp from U.S. 75 to eastbound I-635 ramp at about 3 a.m.

Witnesses told police Duckworth exited his vehicle, sat on the shoulder of the overpass and somehow fell, police said.

In an update released at 1:30 p.m. police said they are investigating Duckworth's death as "unexplained/accidental" and not a suicide.

No further details have been released.

The ramps from northbound and southbound U.S. 75 to eastbound I-635 were closed until about 5:30 a.m. while police investigated.

CORRECTION (May 24, 2017, 1:50 p.m.): Dallas police say they are investigating Chase Duckworth's death as "unexplained/accidental" and not a suicide as police previously indicated.
