Vehicle Crashes Outside Arlington Jewelry Store

Arlington police and firefighters were called to the scene of a pick-up truck that crashed outside a jewelry store Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at the rear of the Robbins Brothers jewelry store at the Arlington Highlands shopping center in the 100 block of East Interstate 20.

Chopper 5 showed a blue Dodge pick-up truck stuck on a retaining wall. The truck did not hit the store and there's no damage to the building.

Police said the driver told them his engine caught fire, which led to the brakes failing.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured in the crash.

Because the crash appears to be an accident, the driver was not cited, police said.
