Vapor Cloud, Gas Leak Forces Traffic Detours

A vapor cloud linked to a natural gas well forced some traffic to be rerouted near NE 38th Street in Fort Worth Monday morning.

Traffic was temporarily rerouted near North Main and Loop 820 North and at Terminal Road and North Main to prevent people from driving through the vapor cloud.

The Fort Worth Fire Department was prepared to evacuate nearby businesses, but that ended up not being necessary due to the quick response of XTO personnel, who shut off the well.

The leak was controlled approximately 15 minutes after FD arrival.

FD remained on scene until the vapor cloud dissipated at about 7:15 a.m.

The cause of the leak is under investigation. There were no injuries reported connection with the leak.
