On Friday morning, some residents in McKinney’s Clifton Parks neighborhood awoke to their cars covered in black spray paint.
Vandals left racial and homophobic slurs on at least three vehicles.
A spokesperson for McKinney police said the department responded to three criminal mischief calls in the area of Surrey Lane and Cockrill Drive on Friday and is investigating all of them.
At this time, the department is not investigating any of the offenses as a hate crime, according to Officer Terry Qualls.
“I think it’s obvious they didn’t know who owned the car,” said Mark Pomaro. He awoke to find his daughter’s Volkswagen covered in swastikas.
“They didn’t know who lives in this house, it was just a random deal we just happened to be one of the unlucky ones who parked in the front of the house.”
A few doors down a family discovered their van covered in racial slurs.

“I can tell you they misspelled a couple of words so we’re not dealing with master criminals,” said Pomaro.
“What they didn’t realize is a lot of people in this neighborhood have surveillance equipment and I know the neighbor down the street said that he had a camera right on the spot where this happened, so my guess is in another day or two they’ll catch these kids.”
Right now there are no suspects.
