Vandals Damage Northwest High School

Leaders at Northwest High School are still trying to calculate how much damage was done when vandals broke in and left their mark throughout the campus.

School security cameras captured at least three people wearing what appear to be luchador masks as they spray-painted graffiti throughout the high school's entrance area, near the front office. They marked several windows and the school crest on the floor before proceeding down the school's hallways to do more damage.

The next day, Principal Jason Childress and his team found vulgar markings throughout the building, into the courtyard and out onto the exterior of the school and beyond into the rest of the district's central Justin campus.

"It was all the way down our main street, just sporadically," said Childress.

Students on Friday said the graffiti was a disappointing end to the school year, many taking to social media urging those who did it to come forward.

School leaders and investigators with the Denton County Sheriff's Department are looking into the matter, and hope by releasing the security camera footage someone will come forward with more information.
