Vacant Dallas ISD School May Have Been Set On Fire

Sunday's fire inside a vacant Dallas ISD school may be a case of arson.

A passerby noticed flames rising from the second floor of H.S. Thompson Elementary School at 5700 Bexar Street in South Dallas.

Dallas Fire Rescue responded at 5:35 p.m. and found the fire inside of classroom on the second floor.

Investigators tell NBC DFW it appears the fire was deliberately set. The culprit is not known.

No one was injured.

Thompson Elementary School was closed in 2012 as part of a cost saving measure.
