The University of Texas at Arlington announced a $1 million endowment to benefit its nursing program.

The money will be used to create a faculty chair for geriatric nursing research. According to school officials, this is the first endowed faculty chair in the College of Nursing, which has tripled enrollment over the past three years.

Enrollment this fall increased to nearly 6,000 students, making it the largest nursing program in North Texas.

This is the second contribution from the Moritz family of Moritz Dealerships who already provided $750,000 for the College Park Center.
