Two University of North Texas students face state and federal charges of felony cash forgery after using and making counterfeit bills in a dorm room.

Brent Bakewell and Keeley Dunnam were arrested after police found a number of fake $20 and $1 bills in Bakewell's dorm room in Maple Hall.

Denton Police were tipped off to the fake bills by an employee at a convenience store, according to Denton public information officer Ryan Grelle.

Other businesses in the area were warned of the possible circulation in counterfeit bills.

The students will face a grand jury before heading to trial and may face federal charges from the US Secret Service.
