Two women are recovering at Dallas Methodist after police say they were shot by an unidentified man Friday morning in Grand Prairie.

Police say the women were in their apartment around 4:00 a.m. in the 700-block of Great Southwest Parkway when a man knocked on the door. The women answered the door and the man at the door fired a gun.

Pellets, possibly from a shotgun, hit the two women in the legs, according to officials. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators are still tracking down leads regarding the man's identity and where he fled after the shooting.

Early information suggests the women did not know the man.
