Two People Crash Truck Into Dallas Store, Try to Steal ATM

Police said they're investigating after two people tried to steal at least one ATM in Dallas early Wednesday morning.

Dallas police said two people tried to crash a red pickup truck into a check cashing store in the 2100 block of Singleton Boulevard at 2:22 a.m., but were blocked by barriers. One of the people broke into the building with a sledge hammer.

The people them hooked a chain to the ATM and tried to pull it loose, but police said the chain broke. The driver then fled without the second person.

Shortly after, police said an officer found the pickup truck at the King Bridge Crossing apartments. The back of the truck was damaged and the chain was still attached.

Police said they think the same people tried to steal another ATM Tuesday.
