Two Pedestrians Struck, Killed by Driver in Weatherford

Crash under investigation

Two people were killed in Parker County Wednesday night after being run over by a car.

According to Weatherford police, they were called to end a disturbance along the 1500-block of Sante Fe Drive.  While on the way to the scene, two of the men involved in that disturbance were struck and killed by a passing car.

The men were standing in the roadway, arguing with two other men in what has been described as a "road rage-type incident."

According to a family friend of one of the victims, while the four men were arguing, another car came along the poorly-lit road and struck and killed two of the men.

The victims has been identified as Michael Lloyd, 20, and Joseph William Bardwell, 35, both of Weatherford.

"From what it looks like now, it's just a terrible accident," said Cpl. Wendy Field, with the Weatherford Police Department.

An investigation into the incident is under way and police said Thursday that they hope to have more information to share soon.
