Two Injured in Fort Worth House Fire

Two people are in the hospital after an early morning apartment fire in Fort Worth.

It took more than two dozen firefighters 40 minutes to put out the fire at the Surrey Oaks apartments on King George Drive.

Two people were injured from the fire and had to be transported to the hospital. Firefighters said a security guard suffered a seizure, and a female resident with asthma had difficulty breathing after inhaling smoke.

One building at the apartment complex was seriously damaged. The building has 12 units -- eight of which had significant fire damage.

Fort Worth firefighters were able to respond quickly to the blaze.

"Very quick response, we are very close to Fire Station 20, so they were on scene almost immediately," said Fire Department spokesman Captain Tom Crow. We also had a very quick response from PD."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
