Two Dead in Two Crashes Early Sunday Morning

    One person died in a three-car crash on Interstate 20 and Cedar Ridge Road in Duncanville at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

    Two people died in two crashes very early Sunday morning.

    Rescue crews were called to westbound Interstate 20 and Cedar Ridge Road in Duncanville at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

    Three cars crashed into each other on I-20. One person died and one person was taken to the hospital.

    Two miles south of Justin, Department of Public Safety troopers investigated another deadly single vehicle crash.

    It happened at around 1 a.m. on Sam Reynolds Road near Farm-to-Market road 156.

    Sgt. Lonny Haschel said a woman driving a GMC Yukon lost control, hit a pole, traveled back across the road, went through a fence and flipped.

    Jewel Garcia, 20, was ejected and died at the scene of the crash, according to Haschel she was not wearing a seatbelt. Dennis Rodriguez, 32, was a passenger in the vehicle, Haschel said he was wearing his seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.

    The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
