Two Dead in Dallas After Argument Over World Cup

An argument about the World Cup is being blamed for sparking a fatal double-shooting early Sunday morning, Dallas police said.

Four men at a birthday party on the 3200 block of Nebraska got into an argument about the ongoing world-wide soccer tournament when one of them got so upset he went to his vehicle and got a gun.

That's when officers said he shot and killed Raul Santoyo, 17, and Luis Santoyo-Vega, 28. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office released the names Sunday afternoon.

The gunman then shot himself in the leg when several others struggled with him, officers said. He was arrested and taken to Methodist Hospital for his injuries, according to Dallas police spokesperson Gerardo Monreal.

The suspect's name has not been released.
