Grand Prairie police say they arrested 30-year-old Devon Howard (left) and 23-year-old Tiffany Ortiz (right) after leading officers on a chase in a reportedly stolen vehicle with two young children inside Friday morning.

Police said two children were in a vehicle that was involved in a chase in Dallas County early Friday morning.

Grand Prairie police said officers tried to stop a vehicle near the intersection of Interstate 20 and Beltline Road that had been reported stolen in Dallas, but the driver refused to stop.

The pursuit lasted about 16 minutes and ended at the Pinnacle Ridge Apartment Homes, according to police. The driver — 30-year-old Devon Howard — ran from the scene and was later arrested with help from Dallas police and Texas Department of Public Safety helicopters.

Police said they found two young children in the vehicle along with their mother, 23-year-old Tiffany Ortiz. Ortiz was arrested for several outstanding warrants.

CPS took custody of the children.

    No injuries were reported.
