Two Charged in Tattooing of 14-Year-Old

Mother, boyfriend charged in Parker County

A Springtown woman and her Flower Mound boyfriend have been arrested for tattooing the woman's 14-year-old daughter.

On Monday, the girl's father, Charles Mathers, found out that his former wife, Lydie Mathers, and her boyfriend, Brian Lee Sporn, are facing Class B misdemeanors.

It's against Texas law to tattoo a minor, even if a parent gives permission.

Parker County deputies said Sporn tattooed the now-14-year-old girl and that her mother allowed it.

Charles Mathers said he had no idea his daughter had gotten another tattoo -- the letters "SS" on her leg.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the girl's other tattoos are a heart with wings on her side and a Care Bear on her hip. The heart with wings signifies how the teenager survived shaken baby syndrome.

Mathers said his daughter got her first tattoo at just 13 years old.

Charles Mathers said the tattoo is his daughter's third piece of body art. She got her first tattoo at just 13 years old.

He said he is concerned his daughter could regret a decision made this young.

"She'll regret it," he said. "If she ever wants to get rid of it, she'll regret it, because you can't get rid of them as easy as you can get it. I know that for a fact."
