Two Arrested in Connection With Fatal Saginaw Shooting

Saginaw police made two arrests Monday in connection with a fatal shooting of a woman inside her car just after midnight Sunday morning.

Police identified the deceased victim as 33-year-old Deidra Louis Blackmon, of Dish, around 9 a.m., Monday morning.

Officer Damon Ing, of the Saginaw Police Department, identified the two people arrested on Monday as Jeffrey Hansana and Heather Rene Thompson.

Hansana was arrested on a charge of murder and is in jail under a $250,000 bond. Thompson was arrested on a charge of failure to report a felony and is in jail under a $10,000 bond.

Thompson was identified to police via tips from the public after they saw photos released from the convenience store (see above). In a press release, the Saginaw Police Department thanked the public for their quick response.

Police received a 911 call at about 12:05 a.m. about a shooting between two moving vehicles.

Police said it started with a verbal confrontation at a Valero store in the 100 block of Saginaw, then a short time later shots were fired in the 200 block of East Bailey Boswell Road. Police said a bullet went through the rear passenger window and hit Blackmon in the head.

Blackmon was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
