Jury selection begins Tuesday in a trial of a Richardson man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and killing her kitten.

Edwon Kumont Julian was charged with assault and felony animal cruelty after an July 31, 2012 incident in the apartment of Rosa Dismuke, his girlfriend at the time.
