Severeal Arlington residents were forced out into the cold Tuesday morning after a blown transformer caused fires at two separate apartment complexes.

Firefighters were first called to The Lake of the Woods apartments around 1:30 a.m. where residents reported an electrical fire burning in the walls.  Crews quickly got the fire under control but while they were fighting that blaze, a 2-alarm fire was reported at the adjacent complex, The Creek at Brookhollow.

Two units were heavily damaged there, but firefighters had to evacuate at least six apartments.

The complexes are located near Brown Boulevard and state Highway 360 on the city's north side.

No injuries were reported and most residents were able to return to their homes by daybreak.
